Progetto Europeo SARDANA: un esempio di successo della PA
Venerdì 6 Maggio 2011 si è chiuso il Progetto Europeo SARDANA (Scalable Advanced Ring-based Dense Access Network Architecture), esempio di successo della partecipazione della Pubblica Amministrazione Italiana alle azioni Comunitarie di ricerca e sviluppo.
Il Project Officer insieme ai Reviewers si è congratulato con tutti i partecipanti al progetto per gli eccellenti risultati ottenuti. Alla riunione hanno partecipato i responsabili del progetto: Il Prof. Prat dell’Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Project Leader - Spagna), l’Ing. Giorgio M. Tosi Beleffi dell’ISCOM (Italia), il Prof. Antonio Teixeira dell’Instituto de Telecomunicações di Aveiro (Portogallo), Fabienne Saliou di France Telecom Orange (Francia), l’Ing. Spiros Spirou di Intracom (Grecia), l’Ing. Risto Soila di Tellabs (Finlandia), l’Ing. Dimitrios Klonidis di AIT (Grecia).
Il progetto SARDANA ha realizzato in tre anni una rete green a lunga distanza, fino a 100 Km a seconda dello scenario (rurale, urbano), a larghissima banda (da 300 Mbps fino a 1 Gbps per utente) in grado di veicolare verso e da 1000 utenti servizi di nuova generazione (HD multiple video conference, HD video, ecc.).

The SARDANA Project: a PA success example
The 6th of May, Friday, we had the final review of the SARDANA Project in Brussels.
The meeting went very well, the questions of the reviewers were well adressed by the 8 Sardana attendees: Prof. Josep Prat (UPC - Spain), Giorgio M. Tosi Beleffi (ISCOM – Italy), Fabienne Saliou (France Telecom Orange – France), Spiros Spyrou (Intracom – Greece), Risto Soila (Tellabs – Finland), Dimitrios Klonidis (AIT – Greece), Antonio Teixeira (IT – Portugal). The Project Officer congratulated with the consortium, even stating that SARDANA had done and achieved more than most of the projects.
The SARDANA Project, whose acronym means “Scalable Advanced Ring-based Dense Access Network Architecture”, demonstrated by directly realizing it a green broadband network able to guarantee large bandwidth to 1000 end users over up to 100 Km respecting the scenarios (rural or urban).
